Fundraising can be a truly rewarding experience. When people host fundraisers, it is for a good cause. If your aim is to raise the most amount of money possible, there are several things that you could be doing that are hindering your success. Here are the “don’ts” of fundraising. Keep these in mind for your next fundraiser
Don’t Do It Alone
The most successful fundraisers are those done in teams. Fundraising shouldn’t be done by one person. You need as many hands as possible in order to achieve the best results. Get a large group together and set some high goals for yourselves. If you put your heads together you may be amazed what you can achieve.
Don’t Shy Away From Asking Twice
So what if you already asked that person to donate and they haven’t responded? Ask again! You have nothing to lose. Nowadays, people are living busy lives and therefore can be forgetful. If they said they would donate and haven’t, keep pestering them. You don’t want possibly pass up the chance for a large donation.
Don’t Forget About Social Media
Social media sites are great tools for advertising your fundraiser. Nowadays, practically everyone is on social media. You are missing out on a great opportunity if you are not using social media. Create a fundraising page and share it to the various social networking sites. The more shares you get, the more people will know about your fundraising efforts.
Don’t Forget To Say Thank You!
Last but not least, do not forget to say thank you to those individuals who contributed to your fundraiser in some way. For one, they did you an incredible service and at least should receive proper thanks. In addition, if you don’t thank them, they may leave feeling unappreciated. If this is the case, they probably won’t contribute again in the future and may not tell others about your cause.
